Digital, Performance

Artist/s: Jodie Whalen, Chun Yin Rainbow Chan, Dean Cross

'BLEED – a Biennial Live Event in the Everyday Digital' – features contemporary arts commissions across multiple IRL (in real life) and digital platforms.

In 2022 we considered the potential and problems of borders. BLEED 2022 explored the sites of intersection between and within humans, technology, media, history and nationhood, and our emotional, physical and digital geographies.

In 2022, BLEED takes place across three cities, online and in person, from 29 August – 25 September.

On 2 September, 2022 audiences were invited to a launch party, as the sun sets and imagery of the sky captured throughout Western Sydney is projected onto Campbelltown Arts Centre’s facade for Jodie Whalen’s immersive video installation 'Endless Blue Edge'. Audiences experienced the audio-visual installation, 'Sap 濕' by Chun Yin Rainbow Chan 陳雋然, which pays homage to the legendary Taiwanese singer, Teresa Teng and karaoke culture. The distinction between physical and digital objects and places will blur with tje AR (Augmented Reality) Wedge-tailed Eagle and accompanying video work for 'you can never touch your shadow' by Dean Cross.

On 23 September, 2022 a closing event was the final chance to experience the CAC commissioned works in person. BLEED artist and celebrated musician, Chun Yin Rainbow Chan 陳雋然, played a DJ set into the night. There was a range of art activities for all ages to enjoy and a special ‘BLEED’ cocktail from the pop-up bar.
