ANGELA GOH | SCUM BALLET
2017
Dance
Artist/s: Angela Goh (lead artist/choreographer), Eugene Choi, Ellen Davies, Verity Mackey and Ivey Wawn
Scum Ballet began as a proposition to build a speculative web of relations between the Willi’s matriarchal, undead group of female characters from the ballet Giselle, who lure men and dance them to their death, Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist, writer and artist active in New York in the 60’s and 70’s famous for writing the Scum Manifesto.
This innovative and significant dance piece was Angela Goh’s first work of significant scale and included four additional female performers.
