Ngadhu, Ngulili, Ngeaninyagu: I, We, Us – A Personal History of Aboriginal Art in the Premier State was produced by Campbelltown Arts Centre and opened on 26 September 2008, with the exhibition presented from 27 September to 26 October 2008. Curated by Djon Mundine OAM, CAC’s Indigenous Curator – Contemporary Art, the project brought together Aboriginal artists from across New South Wales to consider history, community, identity, Country and urban experience within the state referred to as the “Premier State.”

The exhibition featured works from the late nineteenth century through to contemporary practice, positioning NSW Aboriginal artists as foundational to the history of Aboriginal art in Australia. Including artists such as Brook Andrew, Bronwyn Bancroft, Badger Bates, Robert Campbell Jnr, Karla Dickens, Michael Riley, Elaine Russell, Esme Timbery, H.J. Wedge and Jason Wing, the project continued CAC’s commitment to urban Aboriginal arts development in New South Wales. It was accompanied by a publication, website and public programs, including the Black2BLAK2 NSW Aboriginal Visual Arts Conference, lectures, films and workshops.
