Driven to New Pastures interweaves the stories, dreams, hopes and fears of six neighbours in a residential public housing apartment block in the fictional suburb of Granger. Its central theme is (sub)urban redevelopment and the fracture that can occur in a community when local residents are relocated and forced to start again. Initial research for Driven to New Pastures began in 2008 in the inner-city suburb of Waterloo. Further research was conducted during a 4-week residency at The Community Hub in Minto, 2009. The final work will be staged in an abandoned house in Minto marked for demolition.
